More Bad News on the EconomyBad news for the Democrats, that is: Economists have raised their forecasts for U.S. growth in the first half of 2006 to 3.6 percent, according to a survey conducted by the Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank.
That compares with a forecast of 3.1 percent growth when the previous survey was taken six months ago, the Fed said.
Forecasts for the second half of this year edged up to 3.7 percent from 3.6 percent.
