If a Treebeard Talks in the Forest and Nobody is Listening, Does It Make a Sound?John Kerry, still flapping his lips: Therein lies part of Kerry's problem. His nimble mind seems to have extraordinary difficulty uttering a simple declarative sentence that leaves no doubt where he stands. That might have served him well in boarding school, but it doesn't transfer to the American living room.
He also has tried to tap into the sentiment, largely fueled on the Internet, that somehow not all the votes in Ohio were counted. It's a position favored by Democratic activists, but many are the very people who didn't want Kerry to be the nominee last time around.
