McCartney Sisters to Get Funding from EU for Civil Suit?This is
rather interesting:
The European Parliament today called on the European Union to help pay for a civil suit planned by the family of a man killed in Northern Ireland against the Irish Republican Army members they say are responsible for his death.Now, I've been very supportive of the McCartney sisters, but this is pretty difficult. If Fred Goldman had approached the US Congress to fund his lawsuit against O.J. Simpson, I would have said no, and after thinking about it for awhile, I would have said hell, no! Although the EU is a different animal, I cannot imagine that having the government fund a private lawsuit is a good thing, however just the cause.
